Today I'm participating in Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten: Jerks In Literature
1. Pradraig from Impossible by Nancy Werlin. This guy was a horrible person. I mean truly horrible.
2. Raziel from Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly. Just when you think angels are the good guys, this one comes around.
3. Draco Malfoy from The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. Even though he was just trying to be like his daddy, he still was a jerk.
4. Brain Nelson from Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock. This boy needed a serious talking to or maybe just a slap across the face would work too.
5. Snape from The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. Did he really have to be so mean to Harry in the first 6 books. Really?
6. Bill from The Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampires Series by Charlaine Harris. He definitely deserves a stake...well maybe not a stake but possibly some garlic.
7. Eric from The House of the Night Series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. For the first couple of books I really liked him, then I was ready punch him.
8. Henry VIII from The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory. Sisters...seriously???
9. Brad from Jemima J by Jane Green. He was one self-absorbed, first-class, prick.
10. Wesley from The DUFF by Kody Keplinger. Anyone who would call another person the DUFF, much less nick-name her that needs to be smacked...and hard.
Oooh, I hated Jemima J's roommates too, though they weren't as bad as Brad
ReplyDeleteI'll second Bill from The Sookie Stackhouse books. I couldn't stand him. Even from the beginning, things seemed a little too perfect, so I always had my suspicions. Great list!
ReplyDeleteSnape, Bill and Draco - totally agree with you! I really can't see why people love Bill Compton so much, he was such a jerk!
ReplyDeleteNice list!
Here's mine: http://peskypiksipesternomi.blogspot.com/2011/05/top-ten-tuesday-is-original.html
Draco and Snape are both such jerks. Not evil but just someone you want to smack and tell them to quit being such an ass.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Draco and Snape. Great call on Henery VIII - he was a real jerk.
ReplyDeleteHenry VIII was a great pick, I didn't even think of him!
ReplyDeleteOMG YES to Pradraig! I didn't even think of him...I mean, talk about an asshat haha
ReplyDeleteFab picks all around. I don't know if I could ever pick Snape though ;)
I'm your 200th follower!
I'm about to do my list, and I was definitely planning on putting Draco, Snape, and Wesley on it1
ReplyDeleteOh I almost picked HenryVIII. He's such a total prick and it's even worse that he's real. At least the other guys are just fictional and haven't hurt any real people.
ReplyDeleteRachel-Endless Reading
There was another guy from The House of the Night Series that I liked, but he betrayed the main girl and was killed. Oh! Loren was his name.He was a jerk, that could have been redeemed.
ReplyDeleteMany of the ones on your list I'm not familiar with... yet! But I totally agree with Henry VIII... big big jerk!
ReplyDeleteI love your list. I completely forgot about Draco, and I don't know how I could when I listed Snape as well! And I have The Sookie Stackhouse series to read but haven't started yet. I love True Blood the series, so I'm curious to see how Bill is a jerk in the books. I might need to move them up on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteHaha agree with the Bill Compton comment. Lots of these books I haven't read but the weird thing is now I kind of don't want to knowing there are such jerks in them!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I don't think Bill was that bad. I mean...it wasn't all his fault :)
ReplyDeleteI had Snape and Draco on my list, but will reserve judgement on Bill Compton until I have read more of the books. The rest I haven't read, but I'm sure they are good choices.
ReplyDeleteThese are TOTAL jerks!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten post!
I'm surprised at all the fellow Bill-haters (or maybe just dislikers) out there! I've never been a fan, but I think since the TV show has pretty much made him out to be the awesome, people are thinking of that Bill, and not necessarily book-Bill.
