When words fail you

Has there ever been a book you've read where you just can't write a review about?  I just finished listening to Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott and it was so emotional and such a difficult book that I just can't seem to make myself write a review.  I had so many complex emotions going through my head when I was listening to it and I still have them now.  Maybe I just need some time, but I think it was the topic this book was about that makes it so difficult for me to write a review.
Living Dead Girl

Am I the only one out there or are there certain books where it's just to difficult to write a review about?  If so, what books are they?

  1. I had a tough time writing a review for Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. It was another one of those emotional gut punches and I couldn't really put into words everything I thought about it. I also have a hard time writing reviews for books I'm not wild about (especially when I liked other books by that author or I know other people LOVE them). Some books are just harder to articulate than others.

  2. I had the same reaction to Living Dead Girl. I read it about a month or so ago and still haven't written a review and, to be honest, I'm still not completely sure how I felt about it. It was definitely disturbing and left me with images I will not soon forget!
I had a hard time writing a review for The Book Thief by Mark Zusak too but for different reasons. I didn't think I could find the words to express how deeply I was affected by that book. I eventually did manage to put together a review for that one though.

  3. I usually have a tough time reviewing my fluffy or overly steamy reads. There is only so many times you can write, The smexy in this book is soooo HOT!

    LOL

But yes, emotional reads are hard to write reviews for too. Give it some time, and it will come to you. :)

  4. I didn't actually love this one, but I do know what you mean about sometimes being at a loss for words. Sometimes, a book hits you just right and trying to identify or label or articulate why or how is impossible.
