Waterfall Wednesdays (Week 5)

What are Waterfall Wednesdays you ask?  Each Wednesday for the month of September we will be reading, discussing, chatting, and gawking over the Hotties from Waterfall the amazing first novel in the River of Time series by Lisa Bergren.  Come join in the fun.
Here is the schedule of events:
August 31- Chapters 1-6 Hosted by Tina at Tinasbookreviews
Sept 7- Chapters 7-11 Hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader
Sept 14- Chapters 12-17 Hosted by Joy&Serena at Edgy Inspirational Romance
Sept 21- Chapters 18-23 Hosted by Jenny at Supernatural Snark
Sept 28- Chapters 24-28 and Wrap Up Hosted by Nic at Irresistible Reads

Need more incentive?  The amazingly talented and wonderful Lisa Bergren has offered a trilogy set of her series to one winner each week (signed if the winner is from the U.S.) and an overall chance to win a set of earrings from Venice.  How freaking amazing is that?  I told you she was wonderful.

Discussion Questions Chapters 24-28

1.  After Gabi is injured, the doctor gives her a tonic.  Gabi questions the doctor several times what is in it but he refuses to tell.  Would have you taken the tonic in Gabi situation? Depending on how much pain I was in.  If the pain was unbearable I would have taken it, but otherwise probably not.  I'm not a big fan of taking medicine so I wouldn't like to take something, especially when I have no idea what was in it.  I think I would be very suspicious of any medicine they tried to give me...I mean, they used to use mercury for healing ointments, fillings and cosmetics so who knows what poison they be unintentionally (and maybe intentionally) giving me.

2.  Before the games Gabi asks Lia to let Lord Forabosch win in the archery event as people especially Lord Forabosch are becoming suspicious of them.  But during the games Lord Forabosch upsets Lia trying to throw her off her game. So Lia decides to win.  Do you think she did the right thing by not letting Lord Forabosch bully her or do you think she took an unnecessary risk?
I was so proud of Lia at that moment.  I think I may have even yelled "that's my girl!"  I know the right thing for her and Gabi's situation would have been to let him win, but seriously that guy was a jerk.  I'd have wanted to beat him too just to wipe that smug smile off his face and then I would have shot him in the foot with one of my arrows.  *laughs wickedly*

3.  When Gabi is dying and she and Lia decide to return to the tombs so they can get the cure at home but they have to tell Marcello the truth.  Even though Marcello thinks that it is madness that they are from the future he believes in Gabi because he loves her.  Do you think this is believable?  What would you have done if you were Marcello?
I don't think it is totally believable but I'm glad that Marcello is a good enough guy that he still believes in Gabi and if she says something is so he is going to go with it.  If I was Marcello I hope I would have done the same thing by helping her out with her mission to return home.

 4.       In the end Gabi and Lia return home.  Do you think Gabi will return to Marcello? Would you go back?
Of course she will return to Marcello...there are two more books in the series!  But seriously, I think their love transcends time (pun intended) and I don't think there is much that will keep them apart.  At least I hope not because I want to see some more steamy action between the two.

5.  Looking back at Waterfall what was your favourite moment?
My favorite moment of the book is not really a moment per say, but more of a character trait.  I just loved Luca's teasing and sometimes sexual comments.  He added comic relief and a little bit of spice to the story.  Luca...if you ever make the time jump, I'm here waiting.

I've had so much fun doing Waterfall Wednesday's and I just want to thank Tina from TinasBookReviews, Missie at The Unread Reader, Joy &Serena at Edgy Inspirational Romance, Nic at Irresistible Reads and Jenny from Supernatural Snark for hosting this wonderful event and to Lisa Bergren for making this all possible and for supplying the wickedly cool prizes!

  5. Couldn't agree more with your answer to #2! I think I might have yelled at the book at that point as though Lia could hear me cheering for her. So glad you had fun with the questions each week and thank you so much for participating!

  7. *snorts*

Yes, it would be so much better if those men came to us instead. Why be stuck without indoor plumbing when we could have just grabbed up Luca and Marcello and jumped back to our time. They would be so lost without us and be forced to never leave our side... and of course, they wouldn't want to even if could. LOL

Love that picture in your post. Totally appeals to the romantic in me. And Luca's bits were the best, eh. I had fun with him too.

P.S. Remind me never to taunt you when you have a bow and arrow in hand. ;)

I had no idea how widely used Mercury was- for medicinal purposes! *shocked*

  14. Lisa *laughs uncontrollably* your answers were awesome! And seriously, I'd put one of my arrows through Lord F's foot, too. I loved Lia more at that moment than so many of the others. I always wanted her to kick his butt, the jerk! And, I don't think the book would have been as good without Luca. His comedic relief was the sunshine to the dark. Loved him!
